The assessment mission is started concerning granting of macro-financial assistance of the EU to Ukraine 22 October 2009

Representatives of the MainCRO on the 15th of October, 2009 held a meeting with representatives of the European Commission and the company "Price Waterhouse Coopers" with the purpose of conducting an assessment mission concerning the possibility of granting of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine – the EU financial support through loan or grant resources for stabilizing financial and economic system of the state.

The assessment mission was held with the participation of Paul Toulet- Morlanne - Analyst of Economic Issues, Directorate General of Economic and Financial Issues of the European Commission, Elisaveta Teneva and Ilse Schuster - consultants of "Price Waterhouse Coopers"; Stefaniuk Ihor and Dmytrenko Gennadiy – Deputies Chairman of the MainCRO, Tetiana Borovkova - Deputy Head of Department - Chief of Division of the Public Internal Financial Control Harmonization Department, Natalia Shchepotieva - Head of the Centralized Internal Audit Department and experts of the Department of Organizational Operations.

The consultants of "Price Waterhouse Coopers" concentrated chiefly on the formation, structure, role and functions of the State Control and Revision Service of Ukraine, which were presented by Deputy Chairman Ihor Stefaniuk.

The European experts got also interested in a new direction of the MainCRO is activity – the public financial audit of some economic operations, in particular in the procedure of performance audit function at the enterprises, legal documents that regulate this activity, the first results from implementation of such a model of control.

Within the framework of a two-hour dialogue the following issues were reviewed and discussed: improvement of the public internal financial control, standards, methodology and internal audit function in ministries, perspectives of introduction of internal audit in local authorities, training of internal auditors and the results of the Twinning project.

In conclusion, Paul Toulet- Morlanne thanked all participants of the meeting for the fruitful conversation and interesting information and also expressed a wish for continuation of cooperation.
